Unknown Sonar Contact Investigations Underway  ~ Sep to Dec 2007

MDD divers have begun to dive a list of sites in Weymouth Bay and the Shambles shown on a 1991 hydrographical survey. The list of GPS co-ordinates simply points to ‘unknown sonar contact’; what is there? We intend to find out; Tuesday evening club dives in September, weekends through the winter. If you want to help E-mail Adam Clifton

Compressed Air Dredging in Portland Harbour

A simple, homemade, dredge is being used to remove the silt from the stern section of the Unknown Coaster in Portland harbour. Following further investigations of the wreck, it has been decided that identification may be helped by removing the silt and uncovering the engine block to look for a maker’s plate. If you want to help E-mail Adam Clifton

Binnendijk Project Progressing

Further work above, and below, water is leading to a better understanding of how the wreck came to be in its current state and where some of the key features of the wreck can be found.

See Benny Project Pages for more details. If you want to help E-mail Adam Clifton
